Pantone, the color authority, has released its Color Of The Year 2025, Mocha Mousse, which has the calming earthiness of Mocha.
Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, shares, "For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extend further into our desire for comfort and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others."
Standing in my own Hue and Style® Universe with a method of connecting color psychology to personal values, expression, and personal brand impact, here's my take:
THE MESSAGE
I teach my clients from the three tiers of aspirational color psychology, which communicates a mood message, motivation message and influence message all at once. That way, whether you wear a color that flatters you or place it in your home as a symbol, it feels like it aligns with and expresses your inner individuality.
My first reaction to this hue was from my client, who had it in her personalized palette and, at one time, hated brown. That was over 8 years ago. Being fully in love with her Hue & Style, she came excitedly into my DM and said, "It's brown!" And that brown heart said it all. I was even more excited to dive into my thoughts on it!
