Never Again Get Burned Making A New Year Resolution
The moment I realized that setting the same old style of resolution every year was a sure way to failure, I transformed my results!
I know you've already been bombarded with the "how-tos" of New Year's resolutions, vision boards, intention words, renewal workshops and productivity DIYs. You are used to knowing the answers to fix things in your life, so why would finding new motivation or committing to doing something new this year be any different?
Wrong.
All those solutions don't work unless you shift how you feel about yourself first and then set your direction. And don't worry, it's not your fault that you'd believe a collection of pictures to focus on or a carefully chosen one word would give you the motivation to bust out, stand out or speak out this year - it's how we consume information these days and our short attention span, YouTube-it, Google-it nature feeds into our belief that everything can be boiled down into a tip or trick.
The truth is that transformation of any kind does not happen with a tip or trick. It occurs when new skills meet a new consistency to a tailored learning process. When combined well, changing how you see yourself offers a self-care practice that eliminates comparison and keeps motivation long-term - past the first 19 days when most people fail at whatever word or board they cobbled together.
